History of the Department

The Department of Special Education has a remarkable and transformative history, originating from a compassionate vision to address the unique needs of individuals with diverse abilities. Established in 2009, the department has pioneered the way in providing specialized education, training future educators and support to empower those with exceptionalities.

The department’s inception was a response to the pressing need for inclusive and equitable education for individuals with various abilities. Initially founded by a group of visionary educators, advocates, and parents, the department aimed to break barriers and promote inclusivity within educational frameworks.

Over the years, the department has witnessed exponential growth and development, attracting dedicated faculty members who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with diverse abilities. These committed professionals have played a pivotal role in shaping the department’s ethos of empathy, understanding, and excellence.

Mission
